Hello blogging world. It's been awhile...I missed updating on Elias at 5 months old and so I hope to play catch up tonight!

5 Months (July 7th to August 7th)

Little Monkey,

I love you SOOO much!  It is so much fun to see you become more interactive, especially with your Dad.  Your personality has really come out in the last month.  You are such a joy to be around. You learned to sit up all by yourself (at about 4 1/2 months).  You say Dadda, Momma, Blahblah (not that you know who momma or dadda is). 

This month you traveled out of state for the first time.  We went to South Dakota with your Grandpa and Grandma Hill.  You were such a trooper, though you were not so thrilled about your carseat for weeks after that trip!  We went into two different caves (though you mostly slept through the whole thing in the Moby on Daddy), Jewel Cave and Wind Cave.  We also went to the Badlands National Park.  We went to Mount Rushmore for the nightly lighting ceremony, but you pooed out of your diaper all over me, so the two of us missed the whole thing!  On the way home, we stopped in Wyoming to see the trail ruts.  It was pretty HOT!

Here are some things you like and dislike:

You still dislike tummy time. 
You LOVE when I eat your belly.
You like being held.
You like when Daddy sings you to sleep.
You like making a HUGE mess while splashing in the bath.

6 Months

Ebberd (As daddy calls you),

You continue to amaze me.  You are becoming more of a little boy every single day.  I am so very blessed to be your mommy. 

We started solids this last month.  We began with Iron Fortified Cereal, which you didn't enjoy.  We quickly moved on to homemade sweet potatoes, which you seem to like.  We then tried avocade, which you didn't enjoy the first couple of times.  We've also tried carrots and pears.  You hated them both.  And we've also tried banana, which you didn't seem to mind.

This month you have become even more interested in faces.  Last month you began reaching for my face while nursing but now you constantly reach for not only my face but other faces too.  You are becoming ever more interested in Daddy.  You enjoy when he sings you to sleep. 

We tried hiking our first 14ner this month, which wasn't a success because it was just too cold for you.

It is fun to watch you learn and grow.  You've discovered that banging objects on other objects makes loud noises, which you enjoy doing.  You also enjoy your cousins more and more everyday!
